purple mystics won't pin

I've got a purple mystic tub going and boy does it not want to pin. It just keeps colonizing and colonizing. Here's the scoop...

First time dealing with this strand. Very strong and aggressive. Set it out to fruit...normal conditions (a.c. unit in room set to 68, fan going, etc...)...by day 5...myc was blowing through the casing. By day 10...there was no casing.

I went into full scale alarm...box fan over it on high speed for hours. Hyphal knots began to form...but there was also bruising beginning due to all that air. So I stopped. And...cased it again. Day 4 of second casing...it's growing again. Mind you...I've been fanning the fuck out of it since I put that second casing on...hours at a time, several times a day.

Collectively...we're at day like 18 of fruiting...and it's still eating through the second casing (which I did a light covering of mind you).

No tams (that I can see). What should I do? This strain is a beast, no? Or am i just dumb?

Pictures. Second relax on the fresh air. Let it fruit naturally mist it when dry and that's it. When ever I try a new strain I see how it performs at different co2 levels

Wow you sound like me at times. Relax they eat the Casing sometimes some strains more than others. A 2nd casing has been debated back and forth but I think the last word was not to but I'm not sure. 14 days is the average it takes to pin at low temps it's about 12 to 16 days ime. All the extra case and the drying it out is gonna really mess that time frame up. Just mist when dry like tump said then fan for 5 mins or so.

The longer you let them run the jar and sub the shorter it typically takes to pin.

Try raising the humidity.

There was a crazy guy or gal on here making a slanted tank where the humisite would collect.

May the force be with you young paddy.

Raising it? I was thinking when I was having this happen to me that m.z and a few others thought I had too much humidity?

When you added the second layer of casing, it delayed fruiting. Either they are pinning under the 2nd casing or just wait, they will fruit. Mist when the casing looks dry, not before. Stop misting when you see pins. If your sub wasn't 100% colonized when you fruited it will take longer. An RH of 70% or higher is fine. Try not to keep it above 80% RH. Chill on the fanning, 3x a day is perfect. Good luck! :)

Whale...I do have pins now. 3 weeks later. I'm sure I delayed the pinning...probably messed it up, too. We'll see in the next day or so. Pins are popping up everywhere...all corners, center. So...we're in the clear.

These outta be some potent teachers...

I've hunted that strain strain in 98F, well 80F in the early morning just after sunrise. So, I would raise the temp up. Although, I personally don't do anything under 75F.

66qt tub...pins just now forming pretty evenly all across the sub.

Give it a few days...once there's a nice growth to show...I'll post a pic.

Big pins are easy to spot. Still tons if hyphal knots forming. It'll take a couple days for all the pins to form and pop up. I'll post pics once fully grown in.

Can't finger out how to load a effing picture. I give up.
