Are the possibilities endless? Or should we be boring and stick to what we know works... Some of this stuff probably has potential!

That sorghum will work great. Can you get it for cheap?

I doubt it... Possibly at a feed store.

I doubt it.

And that is the one reason why I use the grain that I use.

I use Mekong Market 2 in Worcester mass, theres another one in Lowell (for anyone in Ma) as well as a Korean one just outside of boston (search Korean market, it's The big chain one) theres also another Asian market sorta near downtown/upper part of downtown near Fairlawn Rehab if anyone is looking for cheap Agar. Also Rice/other grain Syrups, and for me at least Mekong is fairly cheap on grain if you wish to buy a larger amount, like a 10lb or 25lb sack. Mekong market and Mekong market 2 are diffrent, #2 being a grocery store and fish market, it smells probably as close to rural China as possable imho, and it looks like a third world country inside, go in with google translate for packages as 90% of everything is fully in other languages. But telephone brands Agar Agar for I think it was either 50 cents a pack for agar or 3 packs for a buck, cant remember, I know its dirt cheap, I use it for Myco and for food. (If you want to impress your lady, look how to do a Chinese dessert called a Raindrop cake, I love putting fruits, ect inside and when its plated it is crystal clear(serve with Black sugar syrup and toasted Rice powder)

Anyway, it's always good to experiment with Myco as long as you do your reserch and follow protocols.

Good luck with your experiments if you do them, one thing that may help is they may carry grain in smaller 2 to 4 spawn jar quantities, and it allows you to try diffrent grains before you buy a 50lb feed sack. I so wish I did that before buying 10 or 15lbs of Soybeans. I now can make enough tofu to last me quite a while LOL.

Lol... soybeans...   I'm too familiar with them, so I wouldn't even consider it...   I'm sticking with popcorn for now... But Ms to grain with popcorn sounds tricky, but I like the consistency compared to wbs. The mong beans look promising though... I actually saw a old post from a different site today saying the guy used mong beans, but he had contams.

You can always do a small jar of WBS, like half pint, and use it like a G2G transfer onto popcorn. Or a LC

Pretty crappy quality pic, but, everything was white.  Started GT spores on agar here 6 days ago.  Took pic in still air box, may be contaminated now but who knows, I'll find out soon enough.   Cut into 6 pieces.  1 went into a jar of LC, 5 went into WBS jars. Going to be doing another round of WBS and 1 LC in the next week or two, whenever my PES hawaiin spores get here from different vendor.

I'm back. Nd yeah absent thoughts i got a super nice pinset going now no casing layer! on 3rd flush, also made a super clean LC. Strain is PF CLASSIC. I did make a print from the GT i doubt the sterility of it though so im not wasting any time with that yet.. Things are moving along

Parts per million and electrical current of the water.  Measured before you feed and after(after is measured through runoff).  You can buy a meter to test water with nutrient solution.  Although there is a K.I.S.S. method that wirks fine amd you dont need meters and a lot of water testing.  Just get Maxibloom and weigh out 7 grams per gallon of water, or use flora Nova bloom as directed.  With a ppm/EC meter you can fine tune exactly how much nutes your plants are getting for perfect dosage of the nutrients if you will.
