I sure know one marginally productive grow doesn't make me a veteran; actually, I'm quickly learning that this hobby can be very humbling.  I'm pretty sure I made less mistakes raising my two kids than I have so far  with that one grow and the follow-up attempts.  I just took the next step in what I hope is my second fruit producing grow: put 2 shoe boxes of B+ into fruiting conditions.  In jars at the moment I have a bit of a menagerie going: Cambodian, Hawaiian, Amazon, Blue Meanie.  I also just inoculated my first two bags: Ban Phang Ka and A+.  I work from home, so I have the time...problem is knowledge and experience.  The amount of information out there on the internet is simply overwhelming (and sometimes contradictory), so I'm hopeful that I can learn from those with many successes under their respective belts.  Ultimately, I look forward to being a member of the community who can hopefully offer my still-to-come successes.  Thanks...rubikscubensis

I like your style keeping multiple projects going.  Do you have liquid cultures of these or just WBS jars?

One thing that I'm coming to realize is that jars I thought were contaminated but second guessed myself on because I was new turned out to be contaminated after I posted pics on ology to get more input from members.  Don't second guess yourself even though you think your new.  Just do enough reading to be prepared and know that even though your new you have enough on these forums to read/research to be properly informed when issues arrive.

Thanks for the warm welcomes--much appreciated.  One of the lessons I've learned already is "scheduling"--with my first grow, my fruit total was pretty limited, but enough to give me a great first taste.  Problem was, when those stopped producing (third flush was pretty light), I had nothing new going yet--so it was back to the beginning.  My goal is to have active projects at different stages--besides new fruit continually coming in (assuming there are limited problems with a respective project), I'm hoping to build a bit of a reserve (a stash, if you will).  Truth is, I find the whole growing process challenging but also really fascinating (they are amazing little things--and watching mycelium spread and grow is pretty cool--it's kind of beautiful in it's own way).  Luckily I have the time and space (I have a spare small bedroom with it's own heat, so I've turned that into my little grow lab)--now I just need to develop the knowledge base and experience level!  Again, many thanks...rubikscubensis

Peeked again today.   3 of the 10 Corumba jars appear to be 100% colonized or real close and may be ready for the fruiting chamber in 7-10 days.   4 of them have some, a failed to pack area, near the glass side and I am assuming that was due to me not wanting to pack them to tight while loading them.   The one I missed a noc point on is the farthest behind obviously and I'm hoping it doesn't stall out before fully colonizing.   The A+ are coming along slowly.   No signs of tam.   Next Sunday I'll know more at the 3 week point.   So far so good.

Only one way to find out for sure.   Mix it with a good substrate and see if it colonizes cleanly.   If so case it and put it into fruiting conditions.

Yum, the bottom looks like it's full of bacteria hence the gooey looking grains, and if it takes 2 months to get to that weak looking myc then something is wrong. With GT it should look more like a big cotton ball.

It looks ok to me. I would proceed to the next step of your tek. I assume you're going to mix with a bulk substrate.

So I bought two grain spawn bags (from shroom supply). They took forever to grew the mycelium (almost two months). The first one was very weird so I just threw it away (sadly). The Second one is weird so I'm not sure if I should proceed with it.    There's white all over it but it doesn't look like mycelium but it doesn't look like mold either.    Can you guys help me please?
