I decided today to pick my first flush from this cake. It weighs 80g. Since this is my first I'm just questioning the color of blue near the base. How do these look?

Looks like about 1/4 oz. I think someone is going to put his study hat on.

I don't understand your question about the blue. Cubes blue when picked, stressed, yelled at or spanked.

No its deffenitly 80g's , the weird looking one on the right weighs 30 by itself. But about the other question about the blue. I'M not sure really what I ment by it, they look fine from what I researched but I guess I'm just double checking that they look ok, since I'm new to this all, and I'm ready to consume them

The weight was guesstimate of dried weight. Mush is about 90% water.

The blue looks right to me. I don't see anything wrong with them  other than the shape of a couple which wouldn't stress me.

If your next question is dosage, there is a thread here... Maybe in the cultivation archives that is very good information. That's would be about 2 for me but remember, every person is different.  What works for me might not effect you or might send you into high orbit.  Regardless, be relaxed and don't make plans for about 6 hrs.

Dosage all ready have that figured out lol. Starting with 10g then if in a hour I need more I have another 5g set aside.  15 grams should be a good dose like 1.5 dried for first trip

Bought different trash bags and 12 small containers today.   Couldn't find any that had flat bottoms.   They all seem to have that middle raised part to them.    Guess I'll sit down today and see if I can put some colonized grain spawn to substrate without any tams.    It's time to see if the Jalisco will do something.   Wish me luck.

@SonshynI think it was my own brain fart.  1:6 or possibly 8 uses a lot of sub.  @El_Piraña I will read up on the tek. I can PC almost 42 quarts at a time, but pasteurizing does have its benefits.

I almost always pasteurize my substrate instead of sterilize. When I started pasteurizing, I would put the sub in quart jars and use my PC without the lid. But that still limited me to 7 qt at a time, maybe 3-4 more quarts if I used a second pot at the same time. I was running into the same problem, couldn’t keep up with making enough sub.  I changed to using large disposable lasagna pans. I would fill up four of those at a time, seal with aluminum foil and put them in the oven. I can’t recall how many qts in each pan, I don’t have my notes with me.  I did get more evaporation with this method so I had to start with slightly extra water so that the end result was field capacity.

Maybe use the oven instead of the pc ?

@Moonphasenext ones will be better. So far the first 3 tubs are doing ok. All 3 look like this. I folded the plastic down to help keep the edges from evaping to fast, but left it up enough for some fresh air.  Going to open it up in next day or so. Fingers crossed for tam free even pinset.
