So... I've waited some time to share. Mostly, because I wanted to allow enough time for the fruits of my labor, and evidence, to disappear. I would like to give a big TY to MZ. Your knowledge in this matter has been indispensable. And all of you that work to spread the love!!!!!! Mush love! Without further ado... Oh yeah.... First grow ever
On review of the bulk grow tek's the 6 qt dub tub uses a coco coir/coffee ground substrate and the Rez effect uses a coarse grade vermiculite substrate. I was curious if anyone has tried mixing the two teks and use a 50/50 mix of coco coir and coarse grade vermiculite with the coffee grounds added as a nutrient to pull the mycelium through the substrate? What do the more experienced bulk tek growers use in their substrate preparation. I also noticed nothing about ensuring the substrate was at 7.5-8 Ph although this is a part of the casing tek's. Could everyone please help clear up my confusion.
Ok. Absolutely first time attempt. Thought I had all my ducks in a row but I keep reading more and more on other teks. Originally, my plan was to use strobes no fail for spawn(no-brainer to me), and then saw the Tek on zombie tubs. Seems the best as far as eliminating possibility of contamination. But will these type of tubs work for Rez? If not then fine, could somebody please specify, to the most simplistic, which sub to use. I have no desire to case, but if needed... Mush appreciated
Here's a fun side project. A true poser cake. I had a jar of millet, inoculated with mss from a print labeled "China". It took for-fucking-ever to colonize. I think I shook it twice because it fell asleep. Rather than risk a full bulk grow, I did this. Rez effect.. 1:1 spawn:verm. I spawned to a clean gallon bag, then divided into two quart Ziploc containers. Had a little hole punched in the lid with MP tape. And here we are, day 5... Gonna plunk these out into a modified dub with perlite...gotta get some perlite though. .
