  1. Hey everyone I'm starting over, on my posting methods among other things, now that I have a flush or two down from a few diff cakes I still obv consider myself a scrub at cultivation but not so blindly stupid to the terms and teks and how it all comes together. Any input on this topic should be constructive or feedback of experience, as I am in an ongoing learning process, like many of you(no dinosaurs pls I don't want to hear about what ur 20 year old Tek did for you on one rainy weekend years ago. If ya gotta be negative, at least make it something to work with! Now that I have completed the rant part; into experiments, recent, ongoing, or soon tbd. Hope many can learn thru my mistakes and vice versa maybe a tip or two along the way will save a strong flush or revamp a thought to be dead sub. Started with Pf Tek (brf cakes) Used PC 90min lowtemp Reliably sourced syringes Initially started noccing jars late Sept/October randomly thru January. Used space above fridge and top of the dark side of my closet when they started overfilling. Think we nocced close to 80 jars(pints) had issues with air inside, had mold removed, got a purifier hepa type for the house. I imagine I will not lose as many to Tams or failed nocc next time but I probably threw away 30+ jars of the 80 being unexperienced. realizing later, 10 or so of the tossed ones we're probably fine, just being too cautious at the time. Had to mix diff strains in sgfc's based off what was 100%noc first..so confusion was caused there somewhat but good for experimentation nonetheless. Today, there are 15p.e ready to birth, 4 Ecuador to break and dunk, a couple tams on the ones that saw decent fruits already dunked those last night in distilled with a splash of h202, I use iso and perox alot trying to find it's capabilities with myc, gonna set a planter up on the patio for contammed cakes, also getting 3 fresh 44qt FCs in the Martha. Last weekend I got everything I think I need to get subs and casing for bulk started, good brand wbs, no corn, no sunflower, fresh pack of coir lime etc who wants to help me smash out these PEs or advice on anything else so far, will post lots of pics and be more detailed in my future posts, without dragging on, guess this can be the start of my amateur grow log, pics are the first fruits from cake 3 in Martha posted below. B+ Setup basics: Sgfcs or the like in a Martha. 44qt tubs, 3-4" perlite strained lots of holes of course, was playing with polyfill and then leaving some open, for the totes I'm putting in today, will be trying plastic micropore tape(2 layers on bottom holes ,1 layer on lid holes, playing with 1-2layerson side holes, have small random spots of perlite fuzz recently, one light greenish a couple purplish, a grayish cobwebbyspot, going to bleach spray Martha and put everything clean back in later. Regarding perlite tho, have read where you can just strain it thru tap water..done that, the FC I prepped last night had the perlite strained then soaked in peroxide and water for a few hours then I restrained at sink and dumped in, also saw German guy talking about pressure cooking it hAha just too much shit. What to do next..

  3. Hi and hello to all my fellow mycolonists Basics. I know there are easier options, this is not the only one i am attempting practice atm. Assuming most who have dealt with many contams and failures like myself get tired and just want to practice one tek or one method or just pick it up again later or even give up. Not too interested in any of that currently. The Question. I am looking for new ideas to keep the floor more dry from the cool mist thats going on most of the 24h Brief history. I felt the need to construct a full gh in one of my bdrms just to practice technique, env control, etc trying to cut out contams as much as i could for many reasons*.. Personal. Definitely cleanfreakish 👷 gotta keep everything sterile constantly.. I know i dont want to use cotton, and the polyester and nylon-polyester medical wipes$$$ may set me back more than the bigger custom gh is worth. Reference. Its a 9'x10' room the one quadrant where the door/ac vent is, is separated from 3quadrant gh with plastic. 2 layers on floor+black thicker plastic under that, 1 layer on walls, 1 layer ceiling, then a triple layer with a slit separates the door quadrant with martha. My bad if i missed anything.. Any cool ideas would be much appreciated as the plastic is already starting to stick to one of the walls lol Not the fungus i particularly enjoy 😌 Much love and many future thanks
  4. So instead of using my humidifier inside martha, looking at using a little air pump and hoses into glasses of water. Im just not exactly sure wheres best place to have the water glasses at for higher rh ? ...whether i should put them inside gh but not in sgfc, leaving some polyfill out of the lower holes....or maybe put the cups inside the sgfc and polyfill none or all of the holes... i am using 44qt-60qt btw Does anyone have experience or seen the post i am looking for? I may just be having a brainfart, attempting to hurry and get everything together cause i have cakes rolled and fcs pearledddd thanks for any quik replies/advice!!
  5. Here are some photos of my FC. [day 2. after putting the spawn to bed.] Nothing really seems out of place, but there are some small details i want to check. See this dry area? It was larger than the 12" lamp i had center top of my FC. the other thing i noticed was that the center of my FC was getting dry'ish. (-coir turned light brown instead of being dark) i really want fruits growing in the center mass of my substrate bed. That's a measure of success /increases yield? So i did this to my 76 degree F room: Removed the one lamp I had center top. The new lights are much farther away. There are 2 to keep brightness high and the heat transferred to the FC is now much lower. Other than the above mentioned, how is my general condensation?
  6. I've been attempting to get a better feel for judging RH in my tubs. when to increase poly fill, mist if needed, turn the fan on low vs medium in the room. Things of that nature. condensation has nothing to do with RH or so I've come to assume based on explanations of RH. Condensation occurs when temperatures are different, RH has to do with humidity and vapor pressure. At first I always thought "the sides of the tub have water on them, it must be humid in the tub" how do you know if your tubs are getting too much fae, vs too little. Vs not enough RH. Or is it just with experience and trial and error.
